1. Status and Purpose of this Policy
1.1 This Policy forms part of, and is incorporated into, the Terms and Conditions, and supplements the Privacy Policy.
1.2 It is published in order to give effect to the right of erasure under section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and to satisfy the account-deletion requirements of the Google Play Developer Program Policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
1.3 Capitalised terms have the meaning given to them in the Terms and Conditions.
2. Right to Delete
2.1 You may delete your Craftolin account, whether a Customer account or a Partner account, at any time and without giving a reason.
2.2 Deletion terminates your access to the Platform.
3. How to Request Deletion
3.1 Within the application or web application (self-service)
3.1.1 Open the Craftolin application or the Craftolin Partner application, or the corresponding web application, and navigate to Profile, then Account, then Delete Account, and confirm.
3.1.2 Your account and personal data are deleted immediately upon confirmation, subject to clauses 5 and 7.
3.2 Through the public web page
3.2.1 Visit https://craftolin.com/account/delete, which sets out the deletion procedure and is accessible without the application and without logging in.
3.3 By email
3.3.1 Send an email to support@craftolin.com from the email address registered on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account".
3.4 Craftolin verifies that a request originates from the account holder before acting upon it. Where verification is not possible, Craftolin may require further information before proceeding, and may decline a request that cannot be verified.
4. Data That Is Deleted
4.1 Upon a verified request, the following are deleted:
(a) your account and profile, comprising your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, and profile photograph;
(b) in the case of a Partner, your business profile, your Listings, and all associated product and profile images held in object storage;
(c) your wishlist entries;
(d) your saved events and event reminders;
(e) your push notification tokens and your in-application notification log; and
(f) your authentication record held by Firebase Authentication.
5. Data That Is Retained or Anonymised
5.1 The following may be retained, or retained in anonymised form rather than erased:
(a) Orders, Requirements, and reviews already linked to a counterparty, so that the counterparty retains a complete record of its own transactions. Your personal data is removed from such records, which are thereafter held in anonymised form;
(b) data required to be retained in order to comply with a legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligation;
(c) data required to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, or to resolve a dispute; and
(d) data required to detect, investigate, or prevent fraud or abuse.
5.2 Residual copies may persist within backup media for a period of up to seven days before the relevant backups are cycled out. Backups are never used to repopulate a deleted account. See clause 5 of the Data Retention Policy.
6. Effect of Deletion
6.1 Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Craftolin cannot restore a deleted account or its data.
6.2 You will lose access to your transaction history, your Listings, your saved data, and any statistics or reputation accrued on the Platform.
6.3 Deletion does not discharge, cancel, or otherwise affect any obligation you owe to another User in respect of a Requirement or an Order outstanding at the date of deletion, nor any liability accrued before that date.
6.4 A Partner should complete or resolve any Order in progress before deleting its account. Deletion does not cancel obligations owed to Customers, and a Customer whose Partner has deleted their account will lose the means of contacting that Partner through the Platform.
7. Circumstances in which Deletion May Be Deferred
7.1 Where your account is the subject of a report of fraud or unlawful conduct, of an ongoing dispute, or of an investigation by Craftolin or by a law enforcement authority, Craftolin may:
(a) restrict the account rather than delete it; and
(b) preserve the account and its associated records, including Listings and images, for the purposes of investigation, cooperation with law enforcement authorities, and compliance with Applicable Law.
7.2 A request for deletion of such an account may be declined until the matter is resolved. Craftolin will inform you where a request is declined on this ground, and will act upon the request once the purpose of preservation has ceased.
7.3 This clause exists to prevent the destruction of evidence relevant to a complaint made by another User, and to enable Craftolin to discharge its obligations under Applicable Law. Clause 19.3 of the Terms and Conditions applies.
8. Timing
8.1 Deletion effected through the self-service route described in clause 3.1 is processed immediately.
8.2 A verified request received by email is completed within thirty days of verification.
8.3 Where deletion is deferred under clause 7, it is effected within thirty days of the resolution of the matter concerned.
9. Alternatives to Deletion
9.1 If your concern relates to particular data rather than to your account as a whole, you may instead:
(a) correct or update your profile within the Platform;
(b) delete individual saved events, wishlist entries, or notifications;
(c) in the case of a Partner, delete individual Listings; or
(d) disable push notifications through your device settings.
9.2 See the Data Deletion Policy.
10. Contact and Complaints
10.1 Enquiries and requests should be addressed to support@craftolin.com.
10.2 Complaints are acknowledged within twenty-four hours of receipt and disposed of within fifteen days, in accordance with the Support and Contact Policy.
10.3 If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may make a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India in the manner prescribed under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
